This complaint is more geared towards the community but nevertheless with everyone just going on an ego trip the game looses a lot of depth and it just becomes a random mess of people throwing balls at each other. Knockout City is a team-based dodgebrawl video game developed and published by Velan Studios. I always was the only person throwing passes. The tutorial teaches you moves like passing the ball or rolling into a ball and getting thrown at enemies but none of my team mates did any of that. Otherwise I see this game dying fastĭuring beta I felt like no players were engaging in team play. At 20 dollars the game absolutely needs to provide more content, a progression system and needs to find a way to keep players hooked. This leads me to my next point:Ĭharging $20 for the final release may be a big mistake and I personally can not say wether I'd really be willing to buy the game at that price. Obviously not every game needs to pull you in for hours on end but I'm worried wether the game can sustain a large enough playerbase. The game was fun for a few rounds but after 30 minutes of playtime I already felt done for the day and played Rogue Company instead. I think this will especially benefit Switch players without a Pro controller as well as people who simply aren't good at aiming and still want to play a PvP online game.īecause aiming is not a priority, Knockout City focuses on movement mechanics and timing to make gameplay interesting. The game has a lock on mechanic which means that you don't have to worry much about aiming. Even in performance mode the game looked decent (probably thanks to a simple art style) and resolution was still fairly high (720p or higher). The game has a 30fps mode with improved visuals and a 60fps mode where the game will lower graphical quality and resolution in favor of performance.
